I have been working on my "To do before I ..." list for a while. A long time ago, when I was in my teens, I had a list of things that I would love to achieve before I turned 40. Some I did, some I did not. Now since I'm over 40 I work on my Bucket List. Here it is:
- I would love to go to Canary Islands (need more money to do that...)
- Go to Egypt with AMORC (need more money)
- Get an accounting designation (I'm currently working on it!)
- Open my own accounting firm (I'm slowly getting there, but must have that designation first)
- Make a quarter of a million (in Canadian dollars) in one year. (It will be possible after I have my firm)
- See an iceberg (This one I think I'll be able to check off next year. I heard that I can see amazing icebergs in May just of the shore in Newfoundland)
- Have a lobster meal (I never ate lobster... maybe I can do that while in Newfoundland. Of course I can go to any restaurant and try it but I would love to make it very special, most awesome would be to have a lobster meal with the fishermen)
- Write a novel (I'm working on the skills)
- Have a house on the waterfront with acreage (need more money)
- Fly to North Pool (need more money)
- Own a Cadillac (need more money)
- Loose weight and be fit (today is the starting day, hopefully I can achieve this by my birthday - July 16th)
- Go to Dawson City (I'm planning this trip and hopefully I can go there this summer)
- Win lottery jackpot (once in a while I'm buying a lotto ticket...)
- Learn to swim (fear prevents me from learning)
- Hike Chilkoot Pass (I have to work on my fitness level first)
- Go to Italy (need more money)
- Speak Italian fluently (for that I need more time, maybe I can start very slowly now...)
- Go back to Poland for a couple of weeks or so (need more money and more time)
- Pack my bags, jump in the car and visit every single state in US (need more money and time)
- Pack my bags, jump in the car and visit every single province in Canada (need more money and time)
- I love photography and I one day I will have a very good camera (I need more money)
- Go to Peru and visit ancient Mayas site (again, that requires more money)
- Have a week just to myself (I think this one will be easy to achieve, I just need more time and a little extra money)
- Have a diamond ring (I'm starting to save money, from every paycheque I will put $20 to a little jar until I have enough cash to buy it)
So, that's it! Now, since I put this list in writing I can start to work on it. It would be awesome to be able to go back in a year or two to see how I did...
That's a great list, Evalina. #15 - Do it! I had a chance to take swimming lessons when I was a kid and turned it down -- I always regretted it. When I was 36, I took adult swimming lessons for a year or so. I am SO glad I did! I did it, you can too :)
ReplyDeleteAnother story... When I first started taking lessons, there was a lady in her 60's who started taking lessons a few years earlier... started in the 14" kiddie pool because she was so afraid of water. By the time I met her, she was competing as a swimmer in the senior olympics!!
